I really had to reblog it. I post many pictures of girls, beautiful, skinny, tattooed, all kind of girls that attract me clear, and I know what attracts me is not only the look, what really attracts me is the girl. No need to have the coolest hair and be super skinny, you just need to be yourself.

First Lady Michelle Obama Credited In ‘Dispelling Stereotypes’ of Black Women In Groundbreaking National Study In a first of its kind groundbreaking national study on the lives of college educated, accomplished black women, more than 87% of the black female survey respondents (n=540) believe that First Lady Michelle Obama has helped dispel negative stereotypes of accomplished black women in America. The results of what author Sophia Nelson has dubbed as the “Age of Michelle Obama” survey are published in a new book Black Woman Redefined: Dispelling Myths and Discovering Fulfillment in the Age of Michelle Obama. Essence Magazine has hailed the book as a “Game Changer” for black women in America. The New York Post writes “At a moment of profound economic and cultural change for America, Black Woman Redefined comes along at the perfect time. The release of the book comes at a time when a recent article in Newsweek analyzed how poorly reality TV portrays successful black women like Nene & Star Jones on the top rated “Celebrity Apprentice” as well as a solid 12-month barrage of negativity lambasting black women from the Pepsi Super Bowl add to ABC’s “Why Can’t A Successful Black Woman Get a Man”, “Black Marriage Negotiations” video and numerous other examples.(via blacknews.com)
I’m so very proud to be a black woman in the “Age of Michelle Obama”. EDITED TO ADD: While I still appreciate the sentiment, it’s kind of ironic that this article is riddled with typos.

Making a (fashion) statement: A 12-year-old boy in England wore a skirt to school to protest the school’s uniform policy - in the summer months, girls are allowed to wear skirts but boys aren’t allowed to wear shorts. The policy doesn’t explicitly say that boys can’t wear skirts, so voila. Brilliant how confident he is. More.

Ohmygawd cutest, coolest kid ever.
(ALSO THIS IS TOTALLY 12-YEAR OLD KURT YOU ALL KNOW IT TO BE TRUE)
